Hi all. I had my 6 month checkup at the Bone Marrow Clinic this a.m. My blood results were even better than in Dec. My platelets and red blood cells are better than most 'normal' people. And everything else is within normal ranges.
Dr. Shafey was back from mat leave so it was nice to see her again. She was very pleased with my results too.
I still get bouts of graft vs host, a few bumps, like mosquito bites, combined with fatigue and my eyes get really dry and sore. But she said that's a good thing as it means my immune system continues to build.
The best news was I won't need a bone marrow biopsy at my next visit in Dec. if my blood work continues this good. Yahoo!

More results from 2 annual checkup

My bone marrow results are good. Bone density is still low so continue on that med to improve it. Started my re-immunizations last week. Me and all the little babies crying at the Community Health Centre. The babies were, not me! Although after 3 shots in each arm I felt like a pin cushion the next day. Two more sessions and I'll be all UTD.
Decided to update my picture to one from Aug/11 in San Francisco. Haven't quite figured out how to add more than one pic so you can see how much darker my hair has gotten, much to my similar-aged friends' dismay! Although I do miss the curls.
Started yoga last week and hope to try downhill skiing and skating later this month. And walking when it's not too cold. Got to keep the exercise routine going.
I'm doing well enough that my next checkup isn't for 6 months, instead of very 3 months previously. I still get blood work done every 3 months but as long as the results are good I don't see the doctor.
Bye 'til then.
